Creating The Power of Play !
I have been so thrilled to have welcomed you and your families at woo-hoo! for the past six months. Seeing so many smiling faces has been absolutely heartwarming after years of planning, construction, and unforeseen challenges. woo-hoo! was always designed to be a safe place for children to learn, grow and play; which has taken an even deeper meaning in the current situation.
woo-hoo! was designed with 10 different galleries to enjoy all 16 types of play and support children’s development in 5 key areas. From getting children moving, exploring, imagining and connecting we are thoughtful about creating experiences that offer a holistic perspective of development. Each experience has been designed to offer something for all children, at all ages, and all levels of development.
Play is an inherent part of childhood and is universal. Beyond the surface, it holds so many benefits for growing minds and bodies. Most of the time, we as adults, see play as a break from learning or working, but for children it is actually the most effective way to learn. Play allows children a safe place to explore their curiosities, challenge themselves, build on what they know, bond with loved ones, and observe the world in new ways. When children play it is developing a wide range of skills from critical thinking, problem solving, self-reliance, communication to connecting with others.
Now, more than ever, we are committed to upholding the highest safety standards for you and your family to enjoy your time together with the peace of mind that we are doing everything we can to keep our facility clean and safe. We are also committed to creating opportunities in our galleries and programs that support the crucial development in key areas to help you and your child learn together. At woo-hoo!, we are also committed to helping each parent with resources to support your journey in parenthood.
woo-hoo! will continue to uphold this key element of childhood, play. We see play as the source of inspiration, growing, healing, and joy that every family and every child deserves. We will keep this sacred for all of the children that visit. We are thrilled to continue to welcome you and your family to woo-hoo! and we are looking forward to seeing you in our galleries, family workshops and camps. We hope that through the smiles (and giggles), we, as individuals, as an organization and as a community, can become even more connected, as we grow, learn, and play together.
As a new organization, I would like to know your feedback, questions, and ways that we can support you. I hope to see and hear from you all soon.
